Do you and/or your child need help applying for financial aid to help pay for college? Then come to our Financial Aid Night to learn all of the tips and tricks of applying for aid. Our guest speaker will be Mike Turner from NYS Higher Education Services Corp (the folks who distribute state grants and aid) - Tuesday, December 16th 6:00 p.m.at 11 Bartlett Street, Brooklyn (close to Woodhull Hospital).
Brooklyn Prospect Charter School, an International Baccalaureate (IB), high-performing public school, is excited to host an information session about its High School for current 8th and 9th grade students and their families on Monday, October 27 from 6 to 7:30 pm. The school is located at 3002 Fort Hamilton Parkway in Windsor Terrace (District 15), two blocks from the F/G train.
Highlights include excellent teachers, the rigorous college-prep IB curriculum, small class size, a diverse school community, and many extracurricular clubs and sports.
INFO SESSION AGENDA: Parents and students will gather together in the Commons for a welcome from High School Principal Kim Raccio. From there, students attending this event will progress to the first of 3 "high school taster" lessons, held in classrooms throughout the school. Each lesson is 20 minutes long and will provide an opportunity for students to meet the subject teacher, learn a bit about the su bject and ask questions. Parents in attendance will remain in the Commons during this time for a parent-oriented presentation and Q&A session. Parents and students will be reunited for a final wrap-up at the conclusion of the session.
RSVP's are not required.
TOURS will not be offered at this event. Classroom tours will be made available following our admissions lottery, to those families who have received an offer or a low lottery number.
IMPORTANT NOTE:This information session is primarily geared to current 8th and 9th grade students and their parents. Brooklyn Prospect does not typically enroll new students after the fall of 10th grade. This event is an identical high school information night to the one that will be held la ter this academic year, on February 9th, 2015.
